Be it Ram Navami or Hanuman Jayanti, every year, Hindus come under attack when they take their religious processions out and this year was no different.
Videos of the incident show continuous stone pelting near a masjid and adjacent lane. The bikes and scooters used in the rally are seen lying scattered as the stone pelting disrupts the bike rally. Police personnel were seen making futile attempts to prevent the mob from attacking.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Police had denied permission to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and another group to undertake processions in the Jahangirpuri area of the national capital on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on April 6.
The Court noted that the charge sheet contains enough evidence to believe that the Jahangirpuri violence was planned and that it was a sequel to the 2020 Delhi anti-CAA riots.
The Police said that it investigated the data of around 2300 phones to discover the links between the Jahangirpuri violence and the anti-CAA violence. Police added that Jahangirpuri violence was the sequel of the 2019 riots.
