The official said, “Women police personnel visited Khedkar at her residence in Washim on Monday when she lodged a complaint of harassment against Pune district collector Suhas Diwase.”
On Friday, the victim informed the police that when she boarded a city bus to reach her coaching in Navlakha, accused Adnan started following her. When she reached her coaching, the accused forcibly held the victim’s hand and began pressurising her to talk to him.
The woman's lawyer further argued that calling a lady "bhoot" and "pishach" by her in-laws in the twenty-first century was "a form of immense cruelty."
"They behaved like local goons. They shouted at the top of their voice; not a single decent language was used. All slang and filthy expletives," Protap Chandra Dey narrated.
The harassment incident left the victim in trauma. Following the incident, the 14-year-old victim attempted suicide by hanging herself, but was saved in time by her family.
