The division bench rejected objections made by Delhi government's counsel. It remarked that the petition has been filed for a “genuine cause” and sought detailed status report.
Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju informed the Rajya Sabha that the Department of Justice receives complaints against sitting and retired Judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts
"As per the relevant provisions under the Constitution of India, the following Judges are appointed as Chief Justices of different High Courts. I extend best wishes to all of them!" Kiren Rijiju said in the tweet.
"142 proposals recommended by the High Court Collegiums are at various stages of processing. Out of these 142, 4 proposals are pending with the Supreme Court Collegium and 138 are under various stages of processing in the Government," he added.
