Details that have emerged suggests that the religious procession in Bihar's Bagaha district had come under brutal attack, when it reached a mosque in the Ratanmela area
The procession in Bagaha was taken out with prior police approval and police forces were present during the procession, still it was brutally attacked by stone pelters.
Madras High Court has said in a 2021 order, "Merely because one religious group is dominating in a particular locality, it cannot be a ground to prohibit celebrating religious festivals or taking processions of other religious groups through those roads."
The incident happened on October 27 when the Hindus conducted a religious procession to immerse the idol of the Hindu Goddess in the Bhangaha area of Nepal
