Modi govt declared the Hizb-ut-Tahrir organization as a terrorist organization on Thursday, saying it is involved in various acts of terror, including radicalizing the gullible youths to join terrorist organization

Hizb ut-Tahrir has been expanding its presence in India. Recently, OpIndia reported that the National Investigating Agency conducted multiple searches at several locations in connection to the terror outfit. Two of its members, Abdul Rehman and Mujibur Rehman were arrested by NIA for indoctrinating youths.

Last month, six people were arrested in Chennai for their connections with Hizb-ut-Tahrir and were booked under UAPA.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Friday said that that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the investigation of the recently busted Bhopal-Hyderabad module of the radical Islamic organisation Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT).
