Kanpur ATS busts human trafficking gang that used to shelter illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, provide them fake passport under Hindu names and then sent abroad.
In May this year, a group of Indian workers in US had filed a lawsuit alleging human trafficking and forced labour and had claimed they were confined and forced to work for as low as USD 1 on construction of the Swaminarayan temple in New Jersey's Robbinsville.
Upon investigation, it was found that the gang led by Noor Muhammad lured Rohingyas and Bangladeshi women into marriage, and men and children to work in factories and illegally trafficked them into India.
