A clash broke out between two communities during immersion of Devi Durga idol in Rehua Mansoor village in the Hardi police station area of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, after Muslims objected to DJ music
At Madgadi village in Garhwa district of Jharkhand, violence erupted after the Hindus refused to change the route of idol immersion that goes through a Myslim area.
BJP leader Babulal Marandi stated that the idol immersion procession was left stranded for 6-7 hours and that the cops were wasting time instead of taking action against the perpetrators.
Additional Commissioner of Police Dnyaneshwar Chavan said that the Ganpati immersion procession was passing peacefully when it came under attack near the Hindustani Mosque.
The incident took place after members of a particular community allegedly threw stones and damaged the idol of Goddess Saraswati which was being taken for immersion.
The Sultanpur violence dates back to October 10, 2022, when the Maa Bhagwati immersion procession began in Para Bazar town and progressed till near the Baba Junglenath Mahadev Temple
