Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced that the Modi government has approved the setting up of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Guwahati

Union Minister of minority affairs Smriti Irani donned the hat of a professor as she took sessions on Human Resource Management for MBA students at IIM Udaipur

In its statement, the IIM-A said that the new logo will continue to retain the legacy of the previous logo and will carry the status line in Sanskrit - 'Vidya Viniyogad Vikasa', and the 'jaali' design with minor changes.

IIMA is planning to replace its existing logo of 'Tree of life' inspired from the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque jaali in Ahmedabad and the Sanskrit verse 'Vidya Viniyogat Vikasa' (development through distribution of knowledge) with two new logos.

"If we have to teach managers these skills, what better way than the life of Lord Krishna? His is the best life example to teach effective leadership," said the IIM-A professor.
