The Centre-appointed tribunal that examined the ninth renewal of the prohibition on the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act maintained the ban on SIMI.
The sources told News18, “The way they have been absconding for so long and yet carried out a blast again clearly suggests they are getting financial and logistics support from outside India.”
During the court hearing, prosecution counsel Vijay Fargade told the court, “Probe has revealed that a part of the proceeds from the armed robbery in Satara were used to purchase components to assemble a bomb. Probe has also revealed these members… used the proceeds of the crime for terror funding.”
