The principal of the govt PU college in Udupi has stated that he has spoken personally to the parents of the protesting girls and the parents have admitted that they are unable to convince the girls because things have progressed too far.
Javed Akhtar had tweeted that he doesn't support hijab or burqa but he has 'nothing but deep contempt' for 'hooligans' who are intimidating the girls in Karnataka.
Inamullah Samangani said it is pleasing to see Muslim women stand for their religious values and make sacrifices to defend it in various ways, especially in a secular country like India
The girl student also stated that they hope the court will uphold justice and will not show bias towards Muslims. She also stated that they have no objection to the Muslim girls wearing hijabs or burqa outside the college or even at their homes. "But in the campus, the uniform dress code has to be followed by all students", she asserted.
