Israel Defence Forces informed that about 1,750 rockets have been fired at the Jewish State by terror outfits such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
"Terror organisations have been hit hard and will continue to be hit because of their decision to hit Israel. We'll return peace and quiet for the long term," Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz said.
One of the main reasons behind the recent violence is the possible eviction of Palestinian tenants and squatters from the Jewish-owned Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in East Jerusalem.
To counter the low-cost warfare initiated by Hamas, the Israel Defence Forces has activated its state-of-art air defence system - 'Iron Dome' to protect its civilian population from the barrage of rockets.
