As reported by Odia media, 157 bags and sacks full of cash were brought to the SBI branch in Bolangir. When the bags fell short, this cash was filled in sacks. The cash was then loaded into trucks and taken to the bank.
The police have recovered an almirah full of currency notes at one of the premises linked to Dhiraj Sahu. The counting of notes is still in progress. ANI reported that the counting of notes up to Rs 50 crore was completed by yesterday.
After the seizures, opposition parties including BJP, JD(S) and BRS have alleged that Congress government in the state is using such ways to collect funds for upcoming state assembly elections in five states.
