SDPI which is the political wing of the banned PFI declared that it would contest only 16 Assembly seats in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 in order to help Congress
On May 1, Bharatiya Janata Party released its manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. In its manifesto, BJP made nine promises on conservation and promoting culture and heritage.
The PFI was given a huge opportunity to grow in the state of Karnataka when the Congress was in power. The Congress remained in power in the state from May 2013 to May 2018 when Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister.
The Congress supporters targeted Gautam Gambhir and alleged that the player had dragged politics into the game after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
"If voted to power, the BJP will introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) based on the recommendations of a high-level committee to be constituted for the purpose," the manifesto released by BJP national president J P Nadda read.
PM Modi said, "A snake adorns Lord Shankar's neck. For me, the people of the country are a form of the deity. Therefore, for this God manifested as the people, I will happily be a snake and be with them."
