Several Muslim organisations have called for a bandh to protest against the recent ruling of the Karnataka High Court, stating that the hijab is not "essential religious practice" in the Islamic faith.
You have to either accept that Islam does not give the choice to women, or you have to stop saying that the school is legally required to change its uniform for you. You can't have it both ways.
Most of these 'liberals' are arguing how the courts have banned hijab, but the fact is that the verdict was on petitions whether the hijab is an essential part of Islam.
The court was of the opinion that Government has power to issue GO, and said that it was of the opinion that no case is made out to initiate disciplinary enquiry against college authorities.
