Four soldiers lost their lives and six others were injured after terrorists ambushed an army truck in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Monday afternoon.

Police and local administration team which was part of an anti-encroachment drive, came under attack by a mob opposing the demolition of the illegal mosque in Kathua

"As Amarnath yatra is approaching, this seems to be a ploy to disturb the yatra. One civilian is injured and there is no hostage situation," Jammu ADGP Anand Jain said

Following the murder, hundreds of people, carrying Amarjit Sharma’s body, blocked Jammu-Pathankot highway and the nearby railway track in nearby Hiranagar area on Monday morning.

Two days after the terror attack in Reasi in which ten pilgrims were killed, gunshots were reportedly heard by villagers in the Hiranagar area of Kathua on Tuesday, police said.

In the Kathua incident, Ravish Kumar blamed the victim for displaying his religious identity with the 'Jai Shri Ram' slogan for having earned the ire of his teacher and the principal.

Police arrested Kathua teacher Farooq Ahmed for thrashing Hindu student who wrote Jai Shri Ram on blackboard, the co-accused principal of the school is still absconding.

A video of the minor victim, currently hospitalised, is going viral on social media. In the video, the minor student (class X) is seen narrating the incident. Explaining the reason why he is in the hospital, he states that his teacher Farooq, and the school principal brutally thrashed him for writing Jai Shri Ram on the blackboard.

Rajawat was accused by the Kathua victim's family of milking the tragedy for her own personal gains and was removed as lawyer on account of her inordinate absence.
