Supreme Court ordered status quo for ten days on ongoing demolition drive by Railways authorities to remove encroachments in Mathura

The petitioners stated that it is important to understand the religious history and the significance of the site and it can be achieved through proper scientific survey.

So far nine cases have been filed in Mathura court in the case of Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Masjid.

The Allahabad High Court transferred all the cases related to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura to itself.

The High Court remitted the entire matter back to the Mathura District Judge. Srikrishna Virajman had petitioned the District Judge for a review of the Civil Court's decision to dismiss the civil complaint.

Owaisi had expressed displeasure and also seemed to have instigated his supporters when the court-ordered videography of disputed structure at Gyanvapi complex was carried out earlier this year.

The court has given this decision to survey the Shahi Idgah in Mathura following the appeal from the Hindu side.

Dinesh Sharma had earlier filed a petition seeking the removal of the Shahi Masjid Idgah, adjacent to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.

The Kashi Vishwanath mandir, just like the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, was destroyed by Islamic invaders and a mosque was constructed on the ruins of Hindu temples. Mathura, too, is one such place where a temple was destroyed for mosque.
