Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday directed the competent authority at railway board to grant sanction within one week to prosecute public servants accused in the Land for Job case.
The ED in its Supplementary Prosecution complaint has accused Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members of obtaining illegal gratification in the form of land parcels in exchange for appointments in the Indian Railways.
The Left seems to have their ethical principles rooted not in morality but in political considerations, given their overt support to fodder convict Lalu Prasad Yadav.
According to the ED, Rabri Devi, Misha Bharti and Hema Yadav, who are also made accused, had received land parcels from family of candidates who were selected as Group D substitutes in Indian Railways, for nominal amounts.
Responding to the ads, JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, "The RJD has a knack of exchanging jobs for land. They wanted to play the same game this time, but Nitish Kumar did not allow it.
Through its Special Public Prosecutor Advocate DP Singh, CBI informed the Court that a fresh chargesheet is filed in the case. Singh argued that although a chargesheet was already filed earlier, the need for a second chargesheet arose because the alleged act is committed with a different modus operandi.
