Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has maintained that state government cannot be made liable for providing compensation for those who die following the consumption of toxic liquor, knowing it is harmful.
The top court on Friday refused to stop the sale of liquor across India, asking the state governments to consider providing 'home-delivery' to the consumers desiring to buy alcohol.
Urging CM Ashok Gehlot to open the liquor shops in the state, Kundanpur said, "When coronavirus can be removed by washing hands with alcohol, then drinking alcohol will surely remove the virus from the throat".
