Amid the ongoing loudspeaker controversy in Karnataka, state Home Minister Araga Gyanendra said on Friday that the government has sent notices to religious institutions across the state
Recently, a lot of people including celebrities have raised their voice against the loudspeakers used for azaan even though the same has been banned in many Muslim countries.
The Bengaluru police have issued notices to over 125 mosques, 83 temples, 22 churches, 59 commercial establishments including pubs and bars, for using loudspeakers during banned hours or crossing the limit of 60 decibels of noise level.
MNS leader Mahendra Bhanushali had set up loudspeakers outside the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena office in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area to play 'Hanuman Chalisa'.
