A case has been registered against Mayur Mohite Patil at Manchar Police Station under relevant sections of the law. Meanwhile, Dilip Mohite Patil commented on the matter and said that his nephew was not at fault. He said he put the victim in the ambulance.
The inmates were in the open area near the water tank at circle number 2 when a quarrel might have broke over the use of bathroom between Mohammad Ali Khan and the five inmates leading to Khan's death.
The government led by CM Eknath Shinde has issued financial assistance of Rs 4,12,500 from its social welfare department on June 6 and has assured that the second phase of financial assistance will be given to the family of the deceased after filing the charge sheet.
“Some organisations had called for a Kolhapur bandh and the members of these organisations gathered at Shivaji Chowk today. After their demonstration ended, the crowd began to disperse but some miscreants started pelting stones, forcing police to use force against these people to disperse them,” Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit said.
