Mamman Khan has been granted interim bail until the next hearing, scheduled for October 18. Out of the four FIRs filed against Mamman Khan, he had already been granted bail in two cases.
In a late-night arrest, the Haryana police picked up Congress leader Mamman Khan from Ferozepur Jhirka in Rajasthan on Thursday, September 14 for his alleged involvement in planning the Nuh violence
Mamman Khan has been booked in an FIR lodged at the Nagina police station in Nuh, concerning the Nuh communal violence. Police inquiries have uncovered alleged communication between Khan and a suspect identified as Mohammad Taufiq through phone records. Taufiq has already been apprehended for his purported role in the violence.
Mamman Khan said in his petition that the state government, having failed to contain the violence, is now trying to shift responsibility onto its political rivals by unjustly involving him in the case.
As reported earlier, on August 28th, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij stated in the Assembly that evidence has been found against Congress MLA Mamman Khan in the anti-Hindu violence case in Nuh.
