The Vishalgadh Fort, one of the relics of the enduring legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, had recently fallen prey to the encroachers trying to expand a mosque built in its premises.

Today is the 361st punyathiti(death anniversary) of Maratha warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande, who laid down his life in the famous rearguard battle of Pavankhind to save Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
