The action taken by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Lamka prompted the Indigenous Tribal Leader's Forum (ITLF) to declare an indefinite shutdown in Churachandpur beginning on Monday, October 2.

A CBI reached Imphal in a special flight earlier today to investigate the alleged "kidnapping and killing" of two students, Sources said.

A source close to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, "Separate administration, in whatever form the Kukis are demanding is not acceptable to the government or the rest of the population in the state."
