Miffed by the arrest of the Islamic preacher Mufti Salman Azhari for his hate speech in Junagadh where he incited people against Hindus, AlMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel went on to insult the Hindu community by calling them 'dogs'

"A day will come when people will solely follow Islam and no other religion. We are struggling. Increase our power to such a level that no one will ever be able to trouble us. Aaj kutto ka waqt hai kal hamara ayega (Now these dogs are celebrating, tomorrow we will celebrate," Azhari said in the video.

Right after Mufti Salman Azhari was granted bail in Kutch, Modasa police intervened and took him into custody from Kutch police.

Mufti Salmam Azhari has been charged under the SC/ST Act along with other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

“Since he (Azhari) is an accused in this offence, his activities in addition to his Trust’s activities and financing will be investigated in detail,” SP Jat said adding that more stringent sections will be added in the case depending upon the findings of the investigation.

On Wednesday, the Junagarh LCB did not seek an extension of Azhari’s custody, however, it opposed the bail plea of the accused since an investigation is still ongoing in the matter.

Organisers of the event Muhammad Yusuf Malek, Azim Habib Odedara, and Mufti Salman Azhari have been named as the accused in the FIR. A case has been filed against the trio under Sections 153(C), 505(2), 188, and 114 of the IPC.
