The incident took place at around 9.30 am at an ITBP camp in the insurgency-hit Narayanpur district, around 350 km from state capital Raipur, said Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P.
Naziruddin had first conducted a recce. He had attacked and killed the husband and a four-month-old infant before raping the victim woman and her 9-year-old daughter. The woman was left in a vegetative state and died later.
The main accused Mohammad Ali was intercepted by the vigilance and transport staff at Mahbubnagar on November 25. The police said Ali evaded arrest and seizure of his truck by making his truck immobile and later drove away from the place after the police had left.
