The Indian Narcotics Department has arrested seven Afghan drug traffickers over the past few days, from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and recovered heroin worth Rs 10 crore from them.
Delhi police's special cell has busted a sophisticated Afghan-Pakistani heroin cartel that used heroin-soaked jute bags carrying spices and dry fruits to smuggle the drug into India.
The charge sheet says former IPS Sanjiv Bhatt had instructed the policemen to buy 1kg of opium and plant it against Rajasthan based lawyer Sumersingh Rajpurohit in Palanpur.
