On 31st July, a mob of hundreds of Muslim rioters attacked Hindu devotees participating in the Brijmandal Jalabhishek Yatra in Nuh, Mewat of Haryana. At least six people were killed as a result of the riots.

A Hindu group had organised a Mahapanchayat in Palwal on 13th August after it was granted permission by the police. The Mahapanchayat was called to discuss the preparations to resume the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra

Cow Smugglers opened fire on the police team when they were intercepted. The police responded, injuring one of the suspects, Taufiq.

The members of the Mahapanchayat also demanded their immediate release asserting that they have been falsely implicated in this case.
