The Shiv Sena MP has introduced a Constitutional Amendment Bill to introduce a new provision - Article 47A into Part IV of the Constitution of India to incentivise people who keep their family limited to two children and seeks to withdraw every concession from people who fail to adhere to the small family norm.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Prahlad Joshi stated that the act shows the hooliganism culture and 'frustration' brewing within the Congress party.
Speaking in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Act, PM Modi also cited Jawaharlal Nehru, saying "Pandit Nehru himself was in favour of protecting minorities in Pakistan, I want to ask Congress, was Pandit Nehru communal? Did he want a Hindu Rashtra?"
The first part will conclude on February 11 and the two houses will commence again on March 2. The recess will be used to examine the demands for grants of various ministries and departments by the respective standing committees.
