The case has been adjourned and Akbar's witnesses would be cross-examined on July 15 and 17. Advocate Rebecca John is representing Priya Ramani while Akbar is being represented by advocates Geeta Luthra and Sandeep Kapur.
The ED has alleged that the money received by Talwar was layered through a series of international money transfers and ultimately integrated into Wave Hospitality Private Limited, a company beneficially owned and controlled by the Talwar family in the name of Deepak Talwar's son Aditya Talwar.
The Law Ministry is reported to have told the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that there was "no legal infirmity" in the agency's request seeking sanction for prosecution against Chidambaram. This view has now been communicated to the CBI as well.
