The Hindu refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who faced religious persecution in their respective countries, will be the biggest beneficiaries of the Citizenship Amendment Act which will finally make them Indian citizens after years of waiting.
The refugees said that they have come to India nearly a decade back with a valid visa issued by the Indian government. The refugees added that they had to leave their relatives in Pakistan and come to India because religious persecution in the Islamic nation had made their lives difficult.
In an interview to The Logical Indian, AIMIM chief Asaddudin Owaisi denied persecution of Hindus and other minority groups in Pakistan and other neighbouring Islamic nations
Many residents of Majnu Ka Tila in the national capital said that the bill if cleared, will help them get Indian citizenship and finally bring an end to their life in exile.
