Nirav Modi's luxury assets to be auctioned by ED through Mumbai-based auction house Saffronart

Nirav Modi's lawyer Keith claimed that the accused has been beaten up twice in Wandsworth prison in April and most recently on Tuesday. 

Antigua PM further added that Choksi will be deported ultimately after he exhausts all his appeals and added that Indian officials are free to investigate based on Mehul Choksi's willingness to participate.

Under the limitation laws, an appeal has to be filed in the High Court within 30 days of the date of the order passed by a lower court. However, Choksi took well over stipulated time.

The Singapore High Court ordered the freezing of balance of $ 6.122 million (Rs.44 crores) crore in the bank account maintained in Singapore by Pavilion Point Corporation, British Virgin Island, a company beneficially owned by Mayank Mehta and Purvi Modi brother-in-law and sister of Nirav Modi.

The probing agency stated that Choksi's claims of ill health are a facade to evade questioning and if needed, they will provide an air ambulance with the best medical facilities and doctors to bring Choksi back from Antigua.

The next hearing in his extradition proceedings has been scheduled for May 30

The hearing this week takes place as per the four-week time frame for judicial remand in such cases

This was Nirav Modi's second attempt to seek bail after his arrest on March 20, 17 months after he fled India.
