Revanna is facing a probe by the SIT over allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint by a woman who worked in his household. He returned to India from Berlin, Germany, nearly a month after leaving the country on a diplomatic passport and was immediately taken into custody.
Earlier in the day, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to cancel the Diplomatic Passport of JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna who is facing an SIT probe over the allegation of sexual harassment "along with prompt and concerted actions to secure his return to India."
Amit Shah said Congress government in Karnataka knew about the obscene video allegations against Prajwal Revanna for months but allowed him to flee as it wanted the voting in Vokkaliga-dominated areas to conclude.
Karnataka appointed an SIT to look into the allegations of rape, sexual exploitation against Prajwal Revanna and the 2976 obscene videos that have now surfaced
