Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday directed the competent authority at railway board to grant sanction within one week to prosecute public servants accused in the Land for Job case.

Major concerns have been raised about the growing frequency of deliberate attempts to derail trains throughout India by placing objects on the tracks.

Loco pilots of goods train BCNHL/32849 on Sunday morning informed the Station master here that a cylinder was found on the track between Landaura (LDR) and Dhandhera (DNRA) at km 1553/01.

Souther Railway manager R.N Singh said the train entering the close loop where a goods train was parked was unusual since it should have switched to the main line.

Railway employee Sabir was arrested in connection with the explosion that occurred as the Army Special Train passed over the tracks in Burhanpur.

A total of 9 iron rods were recovered by the railway officials. The cops are now probing the conspiracy angle in the case.

An attempted train derailment was thwarted on Saturday after miscreants removed fishplates and keys from a railway track near Kim Railway Station in Surat.

Taking to X, journalist Rahul Shivshankar informed about the incident and said, “Investigation launched into a suspected act of sabotage. The engine of the Nainpur Jabalpur train 05706, collides with an extraneous iron rod placed on the track near Kachhpura station (boundary of Jabalpur and Nagpur divisions). Fortunately impact did not cause a derailment.

Taking to X, the Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "The engine of Sabarmati Express (Varanasi to Amdavad) hit an object placed on the track and derailed near Kanpur at 02:35 am today."
