Following his interviews with leftists and Hindu-baiters, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati faced a massive backlash from Hindus

In a letter addressed to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, he objected to the Pran Pratishtha of a new idol of Shri Ram in place of the existing idol of Shri Ram Lalla which was discovered at the Ram Janmabhoomi in 1949

While the subject is being widely debated just 6 days ahead of the Divine ceremony, many experts well-versed with the subject have supported the Pran Pratishtha.

"With the blessings of Lord Ram, the 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony in Ayodhya will take place on January 22. Our Kashi-based Yagyashala will also hold a special worship over 40 days, coinciding with the grand event. The ceremony will be held under the guidance of Vedic intellectuals, including Lakshmi Kant Dixit," the Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt said.
