The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Tuesday granted bail to a man accused of chanting 'Pakistan Zindabad Hindustan Murdabad' slogans on the condition that he will salute the national flag and chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ 21 times, twice a month.
Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar Singh said, "A video has been brought to over notice via social media under Musafirkhana Police Station. Persons appearing in the video have been detained for questioning. An FIR has been registered in the matter. Investigation is underway. Appropriate action will be taken in the matter."
Swati Maliwal was asked by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to take the oath as Rajya Sabha MP twice, as she read the wrong oath and then chanted ‘Inquilab Zindabad’.
Facing the brunt this time is the word “Bharat,” which is sought to be declared “exclusionary.” The reasons given include Bharat being a Sanskrit term and Bharat being the word used for India in Indian languages.
