The Uttar Pradesh government imposed section 144 in Prayagraj on Saturday as a precaution and to preserve the state's law and order situation.

Videos of the incident show continuous stone pelting near a masjid and adjacent lane. The bikes and scooters used in the rally are seen lying scattered as the stone pelting disrupts the bike rally. Police personnel were seen making futile attempts to prevent the mob from attacking.

The action comes after SRPF constable Himmatsinh Baria lodged a complaint on April 1.

Four people were left injured in the clashes that followed over the namaz row.

Suspecting that the attack was pre-planned, Bajrang Dal leader Ketan Trivedi said that when the Ram Navami procession was passing through the area, suddenly a Muslim man brought a bike without a number plate and hit a car involved in the procession.
