Stone pelting

A Divya Bhaskar report says that these Muslim minors had on 6th September hurled water pouches at the Ganesh pandal, however, the Hindus did not retaliate. An unsuccessful stone pelting attempt was made on Saturday. On Sunday, the Muslim boys arrived on rickshaws and pelted stones at the Ganpati pandal. The police are now investigating the role of rickshaw pullers in the matter.

Cops were also assaulted by the culprits and their vehicle was vandalised by the latter during the Muharram procession.

Violence erupted in an unsanctioned 'victory procession' carried out by Congress MLA Qazi Nizamuddin in Manglaur as miscreants hurled stones at Hindu families.

A victim named Neeraj said that Muslim youths were making videos of girls dancing during the wedding festivities on Sunday and also passed obscene comments on them, as the Dalit youths objected to this, the Muslim youths called several other people and launched an attack on Hindu Dalits.

As the miscreants began throwing stones, terrified passengers were seen attempting to vacate the passenger train.

The court stated that it was a "clear case of assault on a public servant" and a "clear case of attack on police machinery."

A water tanker driver while trying to escape crushed a youth who was pelting stones on his tanker in the Sangam Vihar area of the national capital. This triggered further violence and an auto driver was stabbed by the stone pelters

Fresh developments indicate that the violence might have been planned. On Sunday, Jodhpur Police conducted a search operation in the affected area and recovered two trolleys of stones from the roofs of five houses. The Police have registered an FIR in the matter against 65 people. So far, the police have arrested 51 accused.

Newly elected Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi took cognisance of the matter. He said that Odisha is a peace-loving state and appealed to everyone to maintain peace and harmony.
