According to the Railways officials, the outer glass of C5 coach seat numbers 43, 44 and EC-1 coach toilets were damaged due to stone pelting on the Vande Bharat Express.
“Some organisations had called for a Kolhapur bandh and the members of these organisations gathered at Shivaji Chowk today. After their demonstration ended, the crowd began to disperse but some miscreants started pelting stones, forcing police to use force against these people to disperse them,” Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit said.

In the case of stone pelting, cases have been registered against 15 others including Ashfaq s/o Arif Sigad resident of Kaharwadi, and Mohammad Umed s/o Mohammad Ejaz, resident of Chhipa Colony under Sections 353, 332, 147, 148, and 149.
