While several state governments across India focus their target against the Hindu festival of Diwali to 'show' that they are concerned about air pollution, the air quality of Delhi is silently demonstrating that blaming Diwali for air pollution is nothing but lazy and irresponsible.
Supreme Court while hearing the firecracker ban case Thursday observed that the issue of firecrackers is a temporary issue and that the main matter is related to stubble burning
Earlier last month, Delhi government had banned firecrackers this Diwali citing 'air pollution' even though studies have shown firecrackers contribute negligible to air pollution as compared to stubble burning.
