Police said the deceased and four other female students at a government school in Bagalkot, north Karnataka, were caught after a language teacher accused them of stealing Rs 2,000 from her.
Kota Collector OP Bunkar noted the rising number of suicide cases in the district and stated that the students committed suicide as they did not score good marks in the test conducted on Sunday. He pressed on the need for the students to be stress-free and said that no tests would be organized by the coaching centers for the next two months.
Swapnodeep Kundu was mentally tormented by both of them. During the police inquiry, it was found that the two were directly involved in the alleged incident of ragging.
A case has been filed under Indian Penal Code’s Section 306 (abetment to suicide) against the coaching centre. The Police are further investigating the matter.
