To safeguard its relation with the Muslim countries, the Swedish government launched an aggressive campaign stating that Russia-backed actors have been attempting to damage the country’s image by falsely claiming that the Swedish government had supported the burning of the Quran.
Stockholm police informed that they had given permission to a man who has stated that he intended to burn the Torah and the Bible outside the Israeli Embassy in Sweden this weekend as a protest.
One of the points of contention between the two was the arms embargo by Sweden on Turkey after Turkey invaded Syria in 2019. This was resolved in an agreement signed between the two in 2022.
"Yemen is the first Islamic country to ban imports of Swedish goods after its violations and desecration of Muslims' holiest," Houthi trade minister said.
Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leader Saad Hussein Rizvi said that Pakistan should declare war against Sweden in order to stop blasphemy against Islam.
In the said meeting it was decided that nationwide protests would be held to condemn the Quran-burning incident. Sharif urged the Pakistani people, including all political parties, to join the protest.
