On Tuesday, a complaint was lodged by a nun with the Kerala Women's Commission alleging mental harassment in connection with the case concerning rape accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal.
Cardinal George Alencherry, the head of Syro-Malabar Catholic Church had found himself in big trouble after the Kerala High Court directed the police to file a criminal complaint against him and three others over dubious land deals.
The Church has transferred the nuns to their previously allotted convents in what is being seen as an attempt to break the collective strength of the nuns who spoke against Bishop Franco.
The three nuns who have been transferred are reportedly very critical of the victim and supporting nuns and were also part of a team which visited Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Delhi pleading innocence of Franco.
Pastor Pradhan has been charged for rape under the IPC and aggravated sexual assault under the Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
