After the Tablighi Jamaat event undermined India's fight against Coronavirus, the criticism not only of the Tablighi Jamaat, but the Muslim community, on the whole, has seen an unprecedented upswing.
After weeks of quarantining and manhunts to find hiding Tablighi Jamaat members hiding in various mosques, India stands at a precarious position where several absconding Tablighi Jamaat members could spurt another wave of Coronavirus infections.
If whereabouts of Tablighi Jamaat members are not shared with the relevant Authority and the Jamatis do not come forward by themselves, the first victim of this infection will be Muslims themselves.
In its letter to Amit Shah, RDA has highlighted seven cases of assault on doctors while on coronavirus duty, including some by members of Tablighi Jamaat
In a letter dated April 12, the District Magistrate had reportedly warned other departments about the incident. The authorities had realised about this event after finding out that one coronavirus positive individual was in touch with the Nalanda Markaz.
While Tablighi Jamaat members quarantined at Delhi’s G.T.B. hospital have not misbehaved with the staff, they remain unresponsive to the doctors’ repeated requests for co-operation.
