Tamil daily Dinamalar reported that the DMK-led-Tamil Nadu government had given 'unofficial verbal directive' to temples against conducting special prayers and offering Annadanam (free food) on the occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, State Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and the Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Karan Adani were present at the signing of the MoUs, along with Cabinet Ministers and Secretaries of various government departments.
As per the court records, petitioner Amali Convent originally possessed 44 acres of temple land that it took on lease. There was a dispute between the petitioner and the temple authorities, leading to a petition from the temple authorities to get the land back.
Vetrimaran, who was earlier known by the name Pandi Maheswari, had undergone a sex change operation and wanted to marry the victim. A police officer said that Vetrimaran had become possessive of Nandhini and did not want her to have other male friends.
