Former MLA Bhojraj Nag, who is leading the Yatra of Janjati Suraksha Manch, has stated that people who convert to Christianity will not be allowed to reside in Bastar, Chhattisgarh.
The conspiracy to convert tribals by scaring, luring or tricking them has been going on for decades. However, some converts don't change their religion on paper and remain Hindus in government records which provides them other benefits including reservation.
"There are several reasons, including the neglect of tribal communities under the current Congress government in Chhattisgarh. Diluting the PESA rules is a prime example of how the Congress government is least interested in protecting the rights of tribal communities," Netam said.
