The matter is of Mavli town, located about 40 km from Udaipur district headquarters. In the year 2021, when there was a Congress government in Rajasthan, about 4 bigha 16 biswa land was allotted for a madrasa there.

On 19th August, propaganda portal The Wire watered down the incident and called the attack on Hindu student merely as an 'injury'. Despite being confirmed by the police later that day that the Hindu student succumbed to injuries, The Wire did not edit the report.

The victim, identified as Devraj, succumbed to his injuries after being stabbed by his Muslim classmate on August 16.

In Udaipur, Rajasthan, officials demolished the illegally constructed house of a Muslim boy accused of stabbing a classmate.

Keeping the situation in mind, the administration has shut down all schools and colleges in Udaipur on Saturday (17th August).
