CBI has found that the accident involving Unnao rape victim was not planned by suspended BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar but was a result of rash and negligent driving by the truck driver
After being on the run for months Atul Rai had surrendered before the Varanasi Magistrate on June 22 after which the court rejected his bail plea and send him to judicial custody
The Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi had asked the CBI to expedite the probe into the accident case and had given two week's time to complete the investigation.
The Supreme Court has also directed the CRPF to provide the security to the victim's family and the lawyer of the victim. The Supreme Court ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to provide an interim compensation of Rs.25 lakh to the victim and her family.
Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi has sought full information on the investigations both in the rape case as well as on the accident that took place on Sunday.
