Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the installed domestic production capacities for urea have been increased to around 310 lakh tonne from 225 lakh tonne in 2014-15.
Addressing a press conference Union Health Minister said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi today approved a total outlay of Rs 3.70 lakh crore for farmers; the package has different components that are focused on the well-being and economic betterment of farmers by promoting sustainable agriculture."
The recent shortage of Urea in both these states also indicate that Congress has no regard for the farmers, and it has completely forgotten the promises it made in the run-up to elections
The newly elected state governments' inability to distribute urea has a created a situation of shortage during the crucial rabi season in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, which is putting crops at risk.
