The brutal murder of Avijit Sarkar featured prominently in the report submitted by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on July 13 before the Calcutta High Court.
Several tribal communities have stated before the commission that rampant loot, arson, attacks against women and assault has taken place after the TMC won the elections.
In order to portray the murder of Joy Prakash Yadav as an 'internal conspiracy' by the BJP, the TMC claimed that accused Tuntun Choudhury was close to Pawn Singh's father Arjun Singh.
“Mafia, dons, criminals and goons in police records led and triggered the violence against the supporters of a particular political party,” disclosed the committee.
