Notably, the apex court has taken suo moto cognizance of the rape and murder case that took place at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on 9th August.
"The parents of the victim girl refused it (money) because they didn't want to be a part of the game played by the chief minister," informed Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya.
"The match has been cancelled. So please do not come there to protest, okay? That's all I wanted to say," the cop from the Bidhannagar South police station was heard saying.
The students and junior doctors continue to protest at the RG Kar Medical College & Hospital over the murder and alleged sexual assault of their female colleague on August 9 in the West Bengal city of Kolkata.
The development has opened a can of worms for the hospital as this is not a one-off incidence when the medical institution made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
A two-member inquiry committee constituted by the National Commission for Women (NCW) investigated the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata and submitted its preliminary findings uncovering lapses in security, infrastructure, and investigation.
